SITE CREDITS

As you've no doubt noticed, I coded this website myself, with my own two hands (well, mostly two fingers). During my long and arduous coding journey, I often needed help (so much help) and resources, so I've decided to credit everyone and everything that I've used on one page. I also thought it might help anyone on their own coding journey who might be wondering how I did something, or where I grabbed an image from (because this happens to me constantly... and it's annoying when I can't find out).

Anything I've not listed was probably learned on W3Schools or borrowed from GifCities. All original images were created by me in Canva.

Graphics

  • Bonnibel's Graphic Collection
    • I used a little thumbs up emoji from the Emojis page. If you're looking for cute graphics, you'll find a huge collection here.
  • Flaticon
    • This is where I got the social icons placed at the foot of every page. I like Flaticon because the icons are free to download, and you can edit/change the colours right on the website.
  • SubtlePatterns
    • Home of my fancy green-speckled background. I like to imagine it looks like an alien universe.

Layout

  • EGGRAMEN
    • I grabbed the message box code from here. It was part of a site template called ~~garbage~~. FYI, the actual template isn't garbage, and you can use it on your own site for free (lots of other templates, too).
  • Repth
    • You wouldn't believe the trouble I had trying to get that moon logo at the top of my site pages to hang over the box below it (also the cat sleeping on my page footer!). It almost drove me to drink, but then I found Repth's collection of website templates and was able to figure it out by copying what they did on a Pompompurin-inspired journal theme. True story.

Code Stuff

  • CSS Flexbox Layout Guide
    • This CSS-Tricks guide is invaluable whenever I become totally flummoxed trying to make my flexboxes behave.
  • Leon's NeoCities Page
    • This is where I found the code for the fade-in-out effect at the top of my full screen site menus. There's lots of other text styles here, too.
  • Zephster
    • I grabbed this code from Zephster's GitHub to make the animated progress bars on my front page.

Everything Else

  • IMAGECOLORPICKER.com
    • This site is really handy for designing layout colours. You can upload any image and find the HEX colour code or RGB value of any colour in it.
  • Neocities
    • This is where my site is hosted. You can make your own site for free, and it's an awesome place to find Web 1.0-inspired cyber marvels. The web doesn't have to be bland and soulless.
  • WebNeko
    • Did you notice the little cat hanging out at the top right of my front page? If you click on him, he'll chase your mouse cursor.😻
